THINK OF A DIGITAL SIGNATURE AS A KEY

A digital signature is a personal mark or private signature key appended to an electronic document using a technological process. Issued by Notarius, it is the only one recognized by the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (Quebec's order of engineers) and constitutes your official digital signature. For a legal standpoint, it carries the same weight as your handwritten signature and meets the requirements of the Code of ethics of engineers and the Directives for authenticating engineering documents.

LEADING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY

Digital signatures are based on a public key infrastructure and are created using a universally recognized technological process known as symmetric and asymmetric cryptography. Using Entrust Entelligence cryptographic software, holders generate their keys and certificates, i.e. a set of public and private keys, and create a confidential password associated with their private signature key, commonly known as their digital signature.

CHILD'S PLAY

Thanks to the technology developed by Entrust, the user-friendliness of the application facilitates the use of the keys and certificates, which are issued in two pairs. The first pair ensures the confidentiality of electronically transmitted documents, while the second is used to sign a technological document and verify its integrity. Each pair consists of a public key stored in a directory available to everyone and a private key that is only accessible to the holder.
