Steps a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec must follow to obtain a digital signature
prerequisite:
Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec as an engineer. (If you are a already a holder of an administrative digital signature and would like to convert it to an engineer’s digital signature, please refer to the special procedure).
Step 1:
Print and fill out the subscription form, but do not sign it.
Step 2:
Appear in person before an identity verification agent (IVA) who will verify your identity
Step 3:
After meeting with you, the IVA will forward your application to the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec for verification of your professional status. The Order will then authorize Notarius to issue your digital signature.
Step 4:
The Notarius key and certificate management service will, as soon as possible, send you the information required to activate your digital signature.

special procedure
If you are the holder of an administrative digital signature and now also hold the title of engineer ("ingénieur"), you can request a digital signature conversion. To do so, an authorized identity verification agent (IVA) must have confirmed your identity when your digital signature was first issued and you must be a member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or hold a temporary permit issued by the OIQ.
